About the Olympiad

International Mathematical Olympiad — IMO 2027

The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is the world's leading international mathematics competition for high-school students.

First held in 1959, it brings together mathematically gifted students from more than 100 countries to solve challenging problems in pre-university mathematics. The 2027 edition will be hosted in Budapest, Hungary, from 16 to 26 July 2027.

The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity invites talented Kuwaiti students to begin the journey toward representing Kuwait on this world stage.

Represent Kuwait in Budapest

Top performers join the Kuwait National Team and travel to Hungary for IMO 2027. Under IMO regulations, an invited country may send a team of up to six contestants.

The examination

About the National Qualifying Examination for the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO 2027)

The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity, a center of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, invites Kuwaiti male and female students from public and private schools in Grades 9, 10, and 11 to participate.

The examination is designed to assess mathematical reasoning, logical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving ability. The selection programme may cover core Olympiad areas such as algebra, geometry, number theory, and combinatorics, and will be used to identify students for the advanced training stages that follow.
